The Woodworkers Guild of Georgia will hold its Annual Holiday Party at East Roswell Park, in the Activity Center, on Thursday, December 4th, at 6:00 pm. The address is 9000 Fouts Rd, Roswell GA 30076.
Members and Patron Sponsors are invited to attend our annual Holiday party, each with a guest. It’s an event you won't want to miss with great food and camaraderie.
Please note that the deadline to register is November 26th and that there will be a $15 charge per person upon registration.
A popular feature every year is the woodworking projects peoples’ choice contest where every person attending can vote for their favorite projects. We encourage all members to bring a project, either for the contest or just for display. Project advanced registration is also encouraged and available on our website. We ask that projects be delivered by 5:30 pm to facilitate setting up the display area.
This year there will be three contest categories, including a category for new woodworkers:
Apprentice
- Newer woodworkers who have a more limited experience (3 years or less) with the basics of woodworking.
- Entrants can be classified as Apprentices for no more than two consecutive years
Crafter
- Member has been woodworking for several years.
- Entries demonstrate ability to use many woodworking tools and apply popular finishes
Master
- Member has previously entered projects in Master category (won three ribbons in past WWG contests)
- Entries involve complex designs or construction techniques, advanced joinery, fine finishes
- Self-categorized
We encourage members new to woodworking to bring projects and compete in the Apprentice Category against other Guild members who are also just starting to enjoy the wonderful hobby of woodworking.
Also, if you have any toys ready to be donated, please bring them!
Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each category. As time permits, entrants will have the opportunity to describe their projects to the group.
We look forward to seeing you and your handiwork at the party. If you have any questions, please contact Robert Phillips, Programs Director, 770-757-4644 or rjtumble@gmail.com
