Join us this month as we welcome veteran woodworker and educator Jim Dion for an engaging walk through four decades of craft. With an extensive background creating one-of-a-kind furniture, 10 wooden-movement grandfather clocks, 13 acoustic guitars, and turned hollow forms, Jim brings a wealth of hands-on experience and problem-solving insight to our guild.
Drawing from his broad body of work, Jim’s presentation will focus on the core fundamentals that elevate every project: smart material selection, joinery, veneering, sanding, adhesives, and finishing. He will also share several of his favorite shop-made jigs, fixtures, and specialty tools designed to make complex tasks simpler and more repeatable.
Additionally, Jim will draw on his career in safety and environmental management to share practical, health-conscious habits every one of us should know for the workshop. This is going to be a jam-packed session with bits of knowledge spanning all sorts of woodworking topics. I can't wait, I don't think you'll want to miss it.
